Brenda Froehlich, Director (Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet I-VI & Pre-Jazz): Brenda has been teaching dance to children for more than 30 years. Her love of dance and enjoyment of working with children prompted her to found the Wilton Dance Studio in 1989. Her dance career spans more than three decades, including performance experience in New York, Connecticut, Rumania and Switzerland. She is former Dance Chairman for the Wilton Arts Council and has received recognition for her commitment to teaching dance in the National Registry of Who's Who. She is a lifetime member. |
Brian Froehlich (Irish): Brian is excited to be re-joining the faculty at WDS this year teaching the Saturday morning Irish Step class. Dancing since the age of 4 Brian has enjoyed a wide variety of performing styles including classical ballet, hip hop and winning many Irish step awards. Brian brings to us a warm and generous spirit. His altruistic endeavors include spending a summer swinging a hammer and wielding a saw for Kaua`i Habitat for Humanity, participating in four Alternative Habitat for Humanity spring break trips throughout the southern US and has volunteered as advisor for several Boy Scout rock climbing excursions. Brian’s academic achievements and awards include Bachelor of Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude from Hartford University’s Barney School of Business, Veru Scholar,
Flaxman Outstanding Senior Award, Senior Regents' Honor, Deans Recognition of Service and First Place in a Business Plan Competition. In addition to teaching & performing Brian is the Operations & Events Manager at Stamford’s By Kids for Kids. |
Pamela Lisi (Ballet, Contemporary & Irash): Pam is a dancer of many years. She first started dancing at the age of three at Andrea Smith Stratford’s dance studio, Connecticut Dance. She studied Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Irish Step (Hard shoe and soft shoe), Pointe, Hip- Hop, and modern dance styles. While attending she received a junior and a Senior All around Dance Scholarship. She then continued to further her education in dance at Dean College, where she performed in Dance Company throughout her years attending. Working with Laura Young and Jeremy Howes in Pointe and Jean Wenzel, Todd Shanks, and Charles Holbrook in Tap. She also worked with Gregory King on the Horton Technique, Kathleen Nasti in Jazz, Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp in Contemporary, Jill Silverman in Ballet, and Ricardo Foster in Hip-Hop. Pamela has also danced in a music video for the the band Beautiful Mess productions and continues to work professionally as a dancer. |
Mickey Lonsdale (Acro, Contempporary & Hip Hop): Mickey is excited to be one of the newest members of the WD faculty teaching Acro, Hip Hop and Contemporary V. Mickey graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn Montgomery with a BA in Communications and Dramatic Arts and minor in Physical Science. During college Mr. Mickey joined the Alabama Dance Theatre where he was a company member for four years. Here he broadened his dance training to include ballet, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, modern, partnering and male dance. He performed in all of ADT’s shows in his four years with roles ranging from Renfield in Dracula to Smee in Peter Pan. After college, Mr. Mickey studied at Accademia dell’Arte in Italy where learned circus arts, physical theatre, movement, commedia dell-arte receiving an MFA in Physical Theatre. He currently is on tour with the Aura Curiatlas Physical Theater. Additionaly Mickey has performed in four movies as well as a music video. |
Peter Nevin (Ballet): Peter began his training and performing career in 1985 with the Westchester Ballet Company. Peter first performed as a guest dancer for the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre (WFBT) in 1992. He joined the company as a principal soloist in 1994. Peter enjoyed performing with the Company in many lead roles, including their original renditions of Swan Lake, Giselle, Blue Bird pasde-deux and various Grimm's Fairy Tales. Peter has also danced principal roles in Harem Scarum, Hi-Tek Aztec, and Tapestry, which were designed for him by choreographer Ron Cunningham of the Sacramento Ballet Company. Peter has also performed in past WDS Nutcrackers as the Nutcracker Prince. Peter's previous teaching credits include Woodbury Ballet and Ridgefield School of Dance. |
